Abstract

There is a gap in the training actions of professionals working in the Public Security Intelligence (PSI) activity in Brazil, which, in turn, is lacking in references that guide the development of curricular matrices of training courses. Because it is a specialized activity aimed at producing and safeguarding the knowledge necessary for decision-making at the various levels of state counseling, professionals working in this area need a specific training that have a philosophical and doctrinal basis for ISP activity. We analyzed specialized literature on ISP and documents dealing with professional education in public security institutions, reaching a theoretical-practical result of basic references that help in the curriculum proposals of training courses. In this sense, the proposed references are based on the competencies and missions of the public security institutions, aligned with the themes dealt with in the scope of the National Public Security Intelligence Doctrine and their connections with the knowledge, skills and attitudes expected of ISP professionals.
